Indoor Plants
Indoor plants have to survive two things most Pakistani homes throw at them: long summers behind closed curtains, and winter rooms that swing fifteen degrees between afternoon and dawn. Everything in this collection has been grown through both, in shade houses that are only lightly climate-controlled, so the plant you receive is already hardened to real conditions rather than a greenhouse it will never see again.
If you are starting out, begin with a snake plant, a ZZ or a golden money plant — all three forgive a missed fortnight of watering. Once you have a feel for how light moves through your rooms, the alocasias, calatheas and variegated syngoniums are where things get genuinely beautiful.
